A cheap Christianity

“A religion that costs nothing is worth nothing. A cheap Christianity, without a cross, will prove in the end a useless Christianity, without a crown.”
J. C. Ryle, “The Cost,” Chapter V, Holiness: Its Nature, Hindrances, Difficulties, and Roots (London: James Clarke & Co., Limited, 1952)

“There is a common, worldly kind of Christianity in this day, which many have, and think they have enough—a cheap Christianity which offends nobody, and is worth nothing.”
J. C. Ryle, “Moses – An Example,” Chapter VIII, Holiness: Its Nature, Hindrances, Difficulties, and Roots (London: James Clarke & Co., Limited, 1952)
