Illinoians Weber, Brown and Ingalls
In November 1865, three Northern men were murdered near the old Sharon Community near the Rusk-Panola county lines of Texas, and buried in unmarked graves. James W. Weber, of Sangamon County, Illinois, and two other members of the 10th Illinois Cavalry USA -- William M. Brown, also of Sangamon County, and John Ingalls, of Madison County, Illinois -- were robbed and killed by four armed desperadoes.
