Battle of the Monongahela

On this day in history, July 9, 1755, the Battle of the Monongahela in the French and Indian War (1754-1763) was fought. A British Lieutenant Colonel named George Washington fought in this battle. British General Edward Braddock was wounded and died on the 13th.
