Should a Christian be cremated? Does it matter?

I would like to have read this discussed. My answer has always been, "It doesn't matter."

But I know traditionally some Christians have been agin' it.
Not sure why.

I hope some will still drop by and give their opinions. Mine is for burial, but I have not studied this out in depth. Russell Moore discusses it some in Burial Plots and Parking Lots. David Cloud writes about it in Cremation–What Does God Think?. I have a little booklet written against cremation by an English Baptist preacher. I read it a long time ago, but I don't remember his arguments.

I believe this is one of those issues which would be implied in the Scriptures not to do, even though there is no specific verse which states otherwise. There are many other things i believe that are implied from reading the Word which we should be able to come to an understanding after prayerful thought.

As a side thought, I have heard some use the excuse that cremation is the cheapest option for burial when using this method. It seems this is quite irresponsible when given the burden of putting a loved one to rest.
