Change your mind

"Every time you open the Bible, be ready to change your mind." -- Elder Ray O. Brooks, Pastor of Mt. Hebron MBC, Long Branch, TX and President of Texas Baptist Institute, Henderson, TX

This does not mean that you will, but you should be ready to. Come to the Bible believing you have something to learn, not that you know everything already!

It's funny how God's Word never changes, but the things that we understand do. Glad He's patient with us slow learners!

If we're never changing anything we believe, that seems to imply one of two things -- either we're perfect and already know it all (not) or we're not learning anything (more likely). I guess two other options are that we are learning and our original beliefs were right (true sometimes), or that we are learning but we're too stubborn to change (also true sometimes).

I've also heard Bro. Brooks say that if you open your mind, your brain will fall out. Matt, I've found something I think belongs to you...
