Preaching on the church of Ephesus in Revelation 2, Brother Ben Horn of Middle Cross Baptist Church pointed out out that the word “left” indicates that the church at Ephesus did not just depart from her first love carelessly, but departed willfully.
Sometimes we misplace things and cannot find them. That is lost, carelessly. Sometimes we place things somewhere, know where they are, and do not want to take them up again. That is left, willfully.
