Does God control chiggers?

"And I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow (Joshua 24.12)."

"Some of the preacher brethren have been criticized as being 'extreme' on the doctrine of predestination, just because they believe that God predestinated and controls the whereabouts of chiggers, fleas, flies and gnats, and these preachers are neither afraid nor ashamed to say publicly that they believe it...If God cannot or does not control chiggers, then I suppose either devils or angels must, or else chiggers control themselves. We know for certain that man cannot control them. Now, if God doesn’t control a chigger and man can’t, then it is doubtful that angels or devils do."

Having had some experience with all the forementioned insects, I am not sure how I feel about it.I suppose I just was hoping God did not sic them on me, although He could have.

The results of most of the encounters were such that I was sure the influence on them came from another quarter. However, the age old question of Divine predestination and foreknowledge or free will et.al. takes far more understanding than I have.

I have at times maintained a position in each camp but not both at the same time. These days I cannot say for certain that I truly know. The finer points of the argument have puzzled men much wiser than I and still do.

While I know the crucifixion is explained in Acts 4:27-28, I am not sure if that fits in well with the L of TULIP.I guess I'll just have to keep on studying.

Yes Mark, it is indeed a difficult task of study at times. As humans, sometimes we tend to "pick and choose" as to what makes sense to us the most, or to our liking for the moment.

Some will say that God controls all of nature, yet deny other points which may be closely related to the same subject. The early American Indians come to mind. They always knew there was a supreme being. How did they know. Know one ever told them about one. They certainly never read of one. It could not have been anything else but God. Some would make the argument of how the devils also believed and trembled. How did they believe? I would believe God also gave them the ability to know as well. We will never know all things on all matters. One thing is for sure however. God will do as He pleases, and has all things under control.
