I Thessalonians 5:18 - In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
God's people ought to be thankful people.
God's people ought to be thankful at all times.
God's people ought to be thankful in everything.
May you and yours have a blessed day tomorrow.

I believe we must look within the Pilgrims' reasons for coming to a foreign land in search of something more. Of course this search later spawned what is now called Thanksgiving. The true inspiration had to be hope. Hope for something beyond what they had. Hope does indeed spring eternal, in that it causes each new day to be unlike the other.
The giving part of the word Thanksgiving cannot help but stand out. I believe we all know what the opposite end of the spectrum is. Which is that of taking. The giving part always requires more effort. I want to remember the spirit of the day more so than the act or ceremonial images. I truely do not feel that the Pilgrims would have made this journey into the unknown if hope had not been in the forefront of their emotions. So let us think of hope on November 26 in a way we may have never before. Looking past what culture has made a journey of almost 400 years ago, may our hearts be turned toward hope.
There is that place in all of us where this day rekindles some sort of memory and awakens the echoes. Even though long ago, it seems a mere yesterday. Though the purpose of the day has long since been replaced, I feel God is using it as another way to move hearts.
