Silver from dross

Proverbs 25:21-22 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

"So artists melt the sullen ore of lead,
By heaping coals of fire upon its head:
In the kind warmth the metal learns to glow,
And pure from dross the silver runs below."- Samuel Wesley (from Adam Clarke's Commentary)

I find it difficult to see this passage of scripture fulfilled. No longer one of my favorite verses, for the time being at least.

Our difficulty with a Scripture makes it no less true. But I can understand that could hinder it being a "favorite".
