A box has a bottom, four sides, and a top. It can only hold so much, and then it is full. Often our theological approach is similar to a box. We pack our theology nicely and neatly in a little box and are then satisfied. But if our box is full, we cannot learn from God’s word. We cannot grow. In opposition to our approach, Peter said we should grow both in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 3:18)
