The health of the mind

“What culture does, or ought to do, is to give a health of the mind that is parallel to the health of the body. It is ultimately a matter of intellectual instincts that are almost like bodily instincts. A sane man knows when something would drive him mad, just as a man standing up knows at what angle he would fall down. He does not have to calculate the angle with a mathematical instrument, or fall flat on his nose forty times in a series of scientific experiments. The body, like the mind, knows its own equilibrium. But it knows it better than the mind; because the problem is simpler, and the physical instincts are less paralysed by false teaching. Now the true teaching, which strengthens and steadies the mind so that it knows and rejects madness at sight, has, in fact, come down to us very largely from the culture of those great languages in which were written the works of the last Stoics and the first Saints, the Greek Testament and the Roman Law.”

Leaked “Queer Inclusive” Presentation

Leaked “Queer Inclusive” Presentation EXPOSES What Kids Are Being Taught in Schools

Matt Walsh: “Leaked audio from a ‘queer inclusive’ presentation at a major education conference reveals exactly what our kids are being subjected to at school.”

The material referenced by Walsh is from a National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) conference. (Note, independent schools as opposed to public schools.) Listen at your own risk of hearing some vile stuff that many teachers are being trained to do in private schools. Here are at least three takeaways.

1. With this mayhem and madness being foisted on children beginning in preschool, it is no wonder how much gender dysphoria children are now experiencing. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

2. Don’t think the problem is solved simply by putting children in private and/or religious schools. Many of those teachers are trained in the same places as the public-school teachers. “know them which labour among you”

3. Don’t believe that bills such as the Florida “Parental Rights in Education” bill are not needed just because there are some people who claim this is not happening in our schools. It is happening. This shows it is. “ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

I’m not short, I’m nonstature-ary

“I’m nonbinary, so I just don’t see myself as a woman, solely. I feel all of my energy. I feel like God is so much bigger than the ‘he’ or the ‘she,’” she said. “And if I am from God, I am everything. I am everything. But I will always, always stand with women. I will always stand with Black women. But I just see everything that I am. Beyond the binary.”

What a bloviating haul of horse hockey! This above was reported about some global superstar of whom I have never heard. I will not bother to dignify this by giving the person’s name. (I am sure you can look it up if you really want to know.) Christians need to call out such foolishness, and thankfully, some are. Unfortunately, far too many people want to pretend that they can understand and identify with this madness. Nevertheless, this stuff is only acceptable when it fits the currently accepted wokeness. The following garbage of the same nature would be laughed off the planet – not because it makes any less sense, but because it is ahead of its time. Wokeness has not caught up with it yet.

“I’m nonstature-ary, so I just don’t see myself as 5'7", solely. I feel all of my height. I feel like God is so much more than the ‘short’ or the ‘tall.’ And if I am from God, I feel I am everything. I feel I am every height. But I will always, always stand with short people. I will always stand with short men. I will always stand with white short men. But I just see everything that I am. Beyond the stature-ary.”

None of either paragraph is based on facts, simply fouled-up feelings. All you need is buy-in. All you need is someone else to feel you are right, then wham-o change-o, you are what you feel. It is not hard to trace this stuff back to its origin – man creating God in his own image!

The person who made the statement referenced initially claimed to have grown up in a Baptist household in the U.S. that was “super religious and super conservative” – but “I didn’t love that. I didn’t feel like I could really dream big, I had to kind of create my own world.” Yes, that is right. The creatures reject the Creator and then create worlds of their own.

Wikipedia is now Woke-ipedia

“Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit.” I discovered Wikipedia around 2003 and started working as an “editor”. My first attempt at editing began with adding information about Baptists on their “List of Christian denominations” page. Therefore, my working relationship with them has been almost 20 years.

This is a “free encyclopedia that anyone can edit.” Because of that, there are negatives. Bad edits are made. On the other hand, very many articles on Wikipedia provide a quick, easy to find, and helpful entry point of research. There can be a wealth of sources in the footnotes, references, resources, and external links. Numerous blog posts I have made at “Seeking the Old Paths” include the words “According to Wikipedia.” However, future posts will not.

It probably happened long long before I noticed it – but “Wikipedia” is now “Woke-ipedia.” Political correctness expelled exactness of encyclopedic entries. Accuracy is sacrificed on the altar of expediency. If you cannot trust an encyclopedia to be accurate, you cannot trust an encyclopedia. You cannot trust Wikipedia – at least you cannot know whether you can trust it.

I discovered this a couple of weeks ago when I wanted to know Rachel Levine’s birth name. Simple. Just check good old Wikipedia. Nope. Wikipedia’s policy excludes giving the “dead-name” of a transgender person. They have to pretend that Richard Levine was born Rachel Levine, regardless of the facts. That’s a no go for me.

Henceforth Wikipedia is a “dead-name” to me. (Perhaps try Conservipedia instead.)

Facts of the day

Special fact of the day: Kentaji Brown Jackson makes judicial history.

During the 2020 presidential primary, Joe Biden made a promise (at a debate in February 2020) to nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court if he had the opportunity. He has delivered on that promise. On Thursday April 7, 2022, Senators of the United States voted 53-47 to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. Jackson will be the first Black woman ever to sit in this Court.[i] She obviously is well schooled in law. I disagree with her judicial philosophy, which appears to be mainly of the “living Constitution” school where one creates things like the right to abortion that is not dealt with in the Constitution.

Mad fact of the day: the first black woman judge and defining women.

Ketanji Brown Jackson sidestepped a question from Senator Marsha Blackburn about defining what is a woman, with her now infamous “I’m not a biologist” comment.[ii] Despite this, Ketanji Brown Jackson knows that she is a woman. President Joe Biden knows that Ketanji Brown Jackson is a woman. 100 senators know that Ketanji Brown Jackson is a woman. The public who voted for Biden because of this promise knows that Ketanji Brown Jackson is a woman. Yes, even the radical left who pretend they cannot define what a woman is knows that Ketanji Brown Jackson is a woman.

Despite their deafening dissimulation on the definition of a woman, even transgender allies and “trans” women and really know what a woman is. When a man claims he is a woman trapped in a man’s body, what does he usually do? He takes female hormones. He has his male genitalia removed and replaced with simulated female genitalia. He gets augmentation mammoplasty, as well as other surgeries such as facial feminization, chondrolaryngoplasty (to reduce the Adam’s apple), and voice feminization surgery. He wears feminine clothing and changes his name from one that sounds masculine to one that sounds feminine. Bruce Jenner becomes Caitlyn Jenner. Richard Levine becomes Rachel Levine. They say that they do not know what a woman is, yet know how to try to appear like other women. Everybody pretends they are women while calling them “trans” women, a tacit admission that they really are not women.

“A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, ‘You are mad; you are not like us.’”

[i] Both the Executive and Legislative Branches of the the United States have a voice in the composition of the U. S. Supreme Court. The President nominates a person to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court. The Senate, by a simple majority, votes to confirm the nominee.
[ii] Senator Marsha Blackburn: “Can you provide a definition for the word woman?” Nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson: “No. I can’t. Not in this context. I’m not a biologist.”

American Madness

Anthony the Great of Egypt, as recorded in The Sayings of the Desert Fathers, said, “A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, ‘You are mad; you are not like us.’”

After the chief medical officer at the New York City Department of Health issued the tweet quoted below, for what did the Department of Health apologize?

“The urgency of this moment is clear. Mortality rates of birthing people are too high, and babies born to Black and Puerto Rican mothers in this city are three times more likely to die in their first year of life than babies born to non-Hispanic White birthing people.”

They apologized for “inadvertently” gendering Black and Puerto Rican birthing people!

I am not a biologist, but I know that all “birthing people” are women. I am not a dictionary, but I know that women who give birth are mothers.
