Free, free, free!

Salvation is a free gift! The people of God are:

  • Freely loved, Deuteronomy 7:6-8
  • Freely chosen, John 15:16-19, Eph. 1:4
  • Freely accepted, Ephesians 1:6
  • Freely adopted, Eph. 1:5, Gal. 4:5-6
  • Freely reconciled, II Cor. 5:18-20
  • Freely justified, Romans 3:24
  • Freely saved, Ephesians 2:5-8

Quotes and pithy sayings

"To write with a broken pencil is pointless."

"Acupuncture: a jab well done."

"Even a dead fish can float downstream."

“When the ship is in the ocean, everything’s fine. When the ocean gets into the ship, you’re in trouble.”

A wise man once said there are three types of people in the world:
(1) those who plan to make things happen
(2) those who make things happen
(3) those who wonder "what happened?!"

The Testimony of Divine Adoption

How happy are the new-born race,
Partakers of adopting grace!
How pure the bliss they share!
Hid from the world and all its eyes,
Within their heart the blessing lies,
And conscience feels it there.

'Tis love unites what sin divides;
The centre, where all bliss resides;
To which the soul once brought,
Reclining on the first great cause,
From his abounding sweetness draws
Peace passing human thought.

Sorrow forgoes its nature there,
And life assumes a tranquil air,
Divested of its woes;
There sovereign goodness soothes the breast,
Till then incapable of rest,
In sacred sure repose.

From The Testimony of Divine Adoption by Madame de la Mothe Guion (translated by William Cowper)
