According to writer Jeanna Bryner, "Mary" was the top baby girl name from the 1880s into the 1950s; "John" consistently stayed among the top boy names during that same period. I'm not sure where "Sunday Rose" will fit into the list.
What, no Brittany? Where's Brittany? Every third teenaged girl you meet is named Brittany. I guess that was LAST decade.
ReplyDeletet least glad to see a return to more traditional names. Except for Madison.
ReplyDeleteAs for unique and unusual names, I had a great-great grandmother who had the birth name of Lalla Rookh Napolean Foster. It seems there was a popular book of the time (1849) by the name of" Lalla Rookh." No one knows where the inspiration for Napolean came from. One could guess the obvious.
