Prayer for children.
Gracious Lord, our children see,
By thy mercy we are free;
But shall these, alas! remain
Subjects still of Satan's reign?
Israel's young ones, when of old
Pharaoh threatened to withhold;
Ex 10:9
Then thy messenger said, "No;
Let the children also go."
When the angel of the Lord
Drawing forth his dreadful sword,
Slew, with an avenging hand,
All the first-born of the land:
Ex 12:13
Then thy peoples' doors he passed,
Where the bloody sign was placed;
Hear us, now, upon our knees,
Plead the blood of CHRIST for these!
LORD we tremble, for we know
How the fierce malicious foe;
Wheeling round his watchful flight,
Keeps them ever in his sight:
Spread thy pinions, King of kings!
Hide them safe beneath thy wings;
Lest the rav'nous bird of prey
Stoop, and bear the brood away.

We enter into this world as a child. If we tarry on Earth for a long season, we depart it being like a child. As children of God, the Blood shall remain on our doorpost until we are translated to a higher place.
In the natural, a child in present times is forever faced with snares and temptations capable of drawing it away from things Godly. As Christians, it is our duty to nuture our children against the wiles of Satan, whether our natural offspring or otherwise. For it is indeed true that the move is on in America to secularize these precious defensless creatures like never before. The mulberry bushes are starting to rustle more loudly with each passing day. How can we say the move is not on?
I was in thought of the refrain accounting for the ravenous prey this morning.
The child of God is able to build a defense around himself and his family to thwart away the scavengers of the carnal world. He can attain his own "heaven on earth" by doing those things which are pleasing to Him, and shunning that which may be pleasing to the senses, but destructive in the end.
May we build a fort around us which is tried and true, to enable us to be stewards of the highest sort.
